NOLA Day 2

So, as we are driving home, I've decided to finish blogging about our amazing weekend getaway trip.

Saturday was perfect. I woke up at 6:38, rolled over, back to sleep!! Woohoo!! Didn't get out of bed till 8! It's the little things...

Had an amazing breakfast at Daisy Dukes right across from our hotel. And they gave us a HUGE cup of coffee to go. Yay. Took that cup of coffee and went and sat by the rooftop pool while reading the Word. Such a beautiful and peaceful time. Then set out for the day. Went straight for Magazine Street. We're big fans. Walked around awesome antique stores. Found an incredible all natural baby store - bought Hayes a happy and a baby gift for my friend Sarah. Then had lunch at a Juan's flying burrito - yum!! Thanks Hannah for suggesting that! And ended our trip at Sucre. My favorite place ever. I was like... Well like a kid in a candy store (cause I was in a candy store). And now we are journeying home... Thanks for the fun time New Orleans!

New Orleans Anniversary Trip

Seth and I try to go on a little getaway every year for anniversary. This year we chose New Orleans! We have so much fun in the city - with so many options of adventures to do!!

My great friend from Hattiesburg, Hannah, who I've known my whole life, was there because she will be playing Elle Woods in Legally Blonde in a month!! Friday was her 25th bday so I was so excited to see her and celebrate! We grew up sharing birthday parties as we are both July Babies.

Seth and I stayed in a beautiful hotel that was part of a gift : ) and we ate dinner at The Rum House- so yummy and fun!! Then, of course, ended our night at Cafe du Monde.

I'm so thankful we go on adventures like this. And so blessed to have a wonderful husband who loves me and encourages me! God is good!!

Summer Fun

Well Hello Again.

I am terrible at blogging.

Let's try to catch us all up!

We have been having a great summer. I am having a blast being at home with Hayes and enjoying every day of summer!! A while back Seth's mom, Melinda, came over and painted lots of furniture at my house. My dining room is amazing now! Here is a quick picture of the table (now white!) and a table runner I made that Melinda helped me with!

Then, Hayes had his first haircut!  He was super sleepy and we had ice cream to keep him distracted : ) Seemed to do the trick. Sweet little man...

 Just had to throw this in... Silly Hayes.

 Hayes is Seth's Number 1 helper. Here, they are fixing something (super important, I'm sure)...

 And this is the beginning of our Birthday Week at the beach!! We sat on this beautiful beach and watched the sunset. Happy Birthday to us...

 Great book - I'm sure.... We watched the video series at a church camp we helped with. Highly recommend.

 Hi Hayes. Sure - Why not climb in the water hose thing...

 Chickfila host "Cow appreciation day" so, you dress us like a cow and get free food. Yes, please. My pleasure...

 Hayes' new favorite activities include anything in the garage. Wagon. Riding Lawn mower. So, when he wants out there, he stands at the door and cries. Pitiful baby.

Not that these pictures and short descriptions really update you on us... but at least you can see what we've been doing. We have really enjoyed about 2 weeks at home without much travel. And Hayes has been to the pool several times. He actually loves swimming so we have really enjoyed days at the pool. Seth and I leave for Guatemala in a few weeks. So, please keep us in your prayers as we get ready to serve down there. Especially as we are away from Hayes. That will be the hardest part for me!!

Bye bye bye

We've been painting! Bye Red, it was terrible and we won't miss you. But we love the grey! My MIL will come next week and we will begin painting furniture to go in the dining room. I cannot wait for it to be done and to show you pictures! This is what we did pretty much all weekend. I'm sure there were other things - but this seemed to consume most of it. 

 

Another good bye... Our friends, the Gaglianos are gone now : ( But look at this sweet picture of Hayes and Lyric (same age)... looking out a window together. It speaks a thousand words to me... I miss them already but am excited for their new journey.

And apparently, Hayes would like to tell me "bye" and walk out the back yard. I doubt it. He is into everything now... and wanting to go everywhere he should not and do everything he cannot. But, he is still my sweet boy.

Pool time! This is becoming a daily adventure for me and Hayes. We go to the pool - for about an hour to get out as much of that energy as we possibly can. I think it is so precious when he sits in the big lay out chairs and eats his goldfish. Too cute.

 Also, Hayes had his 15 month shots today and I learned there will be no more till he is 5. Yay!! Thanks for that great news Dr. Joe!

Oh what a day!

I hope you have all had a great weekend so far. We have! It started Thursday night for us and has been packed with fun just about every second.

Our great friends, the Gaglianos are moving away : ( but we are super excited and happy for them. God is all over their new move and we can't wait to hear all He does through them. Thursday night was their going away party. Hayes and Lyric are the same age - here's some pictures from that night.

Friday we played at a water splash thing with the Albers. Their son Coen is a couple months older than Hayes and they had so much fun in the water. I, of course didn't bring a towel, rookie mistake, but we made it.
Then, we went to the church and Seth and Hayes played drums. Hayes' favorite thing ever is to play drums

Friday night we headed to Kosciusko to stay with Seth's family. My mother-in-law drove thru Hattiesburg earlier that day and so she picked up my favorite cookies from the best bakery ever. I ate 3 - and want more!!

Saturday - pool and naked boy day!! Hayes ran around their back yard and played in the little pool all day - and naked I should add. He ate his first Jody's cookie and first Popsicle - all in one day!! Good day for Hayes.

Seth and I went to a sweet friend's wedding while Hayes played in the pool. Beautiful bride, beautiful wedding and great friends.

That's our weekend so far!

I'm hoping to start painting the dining room this week - I'm thinking grey? Thoughts?
